Beginning January 2012 all NYS Licensed Massage Therapists will be required to submit CEU’s with their registration renewal. In accordance with the new policy, the HVSMT will be offering continuing education classes.

EarthStone- Hot Stone Massage 1: The Foundation Workshop- SAT 5/5/2012

The EARTHSTONE Hot Stone Massage is a stone practice that combines the best of East & West stone healing traditions with current scientific knowledge and connective bodywork. In this foundation hands- on workshop you will learn how to setup for hot stone massage in your office with specifics on equipment, supplies, and stone selection. You’ll learn how to use the stones with techniques that enable you to individualize your work according to your personal style and your clients’ needs. You’ll perform and receive a 90 minute treatment. By the time you leave the workshop, you will be able to perform a hot stone massage. The workshop manual details all this and more, including pricing & marketing. A certificate is granted upon completion.

EarthStone- Hot Herbal Poultice Massage- SUN 5/6/2012 

The day is dedicated to learning and receiving Hot Herbal Poultice Massage. This therapeutic treatment uses herbs that are specific for relieving tight, sore muscles. The herbs are wrapped tightly in traditional Thai fashion, steamed and applied to the body using specific, purposeful techniques. The heat, pressure, and herbal properties prepare the muscles for the massage work that follows.
